On the way from Dalaman to Kalkan, you will find the adventure lovers floating smoothly in the warm air, above Olu Deniz. So if the thought of jumping off a cliff appeals to your imagination and gets your heart racing then Dalaman is a place to go. Paragliding in Fethiye and Dalaman has gained popularity among the tourists and every year Olu Deniz hosts International Air Games in October.

River Canoeing and Rafting
Several companies arrange river canoeing and rafting adventures on the Akköprü segment of the Dalaman stream. Adventurers love to indulge in this adrenaline-loaded entertainment on the rafting routes.

Explore the Turquoise Coast
Dalaman’s appeal starts with its beaches. Going by the title of Turquoise coast, the coastline of Dalaman is lined with a string of bays, coves and lengthy stretches of sand. Olu Deniz and Icmeler are the mega beach resorts, with their beaches ornamented with restaurants, shops, watersports and whatnot. Sooth your eyes and have a laidback evening in Blue Lagoon – the national park.

Thermal Tourism
Dalyan is also very famous internationally for the healing powers of its mud baths. Not only from across the world but travelers also come from Fethiye and Marmaris to rejuvenate from the baths rich in sulphur. The waters of Kapıkargın and Incebel have a revitalizing effect and add to the treatment of many illnesses.

Culture and History

The territory where Dalaman is situated was formerly known as Ahhiyava. Migrants from western coast and Greece moved here in 3000 BC. Fishing, farming and forestry used to be a large part of their lives. They were the residents of the land that attracts travelers today because of the nature’s charms it abodes.

From the time of Dalaman's initial inhabitants, several societies have come settled here and called Dalaman their home. All populations have made their contributions in making it the way it is in the present day.

The earliest settlements of the region are well preserved and still appeal the visitors. You can get immersed in history and delve into the exploration of relics, coins, rock tombs and shrines of the antique cities of Hippokome, Calynda, Lydai, Krya and Lissai.

If you move alongside the Kapda Peninsula you can see some of the amazing relics in Dalaman. Three of these ruins, which are almost entirely intact and rather remarkable, are the ruins of Lassia, Lydia and Kyra. Inside these remnants there is indication of Byzantine architecture, which assists to date the regions, however nothing conclusive has been held of the time period in which they are considered to have been constructed.
